Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

"In the beginning God" is the foundational reality of the universe.  God is the beginning of everything.  We sometimes make divisions between the natural and the supernatural.  But this is a mere convention, since all of nature is one gigantic miracle, created from nothing just as surely as the loaves and fishes Jesus multiplied were.  Somehow, we overlook this.  Some people even find the miracle of the loaves and fishes hard to believe and come up with dumb "explanations" of the "true meaning" of the miracle ("People were so touched by Jesus' warm and fuzzy words that they went all watery and wobbly inside, started singing Kumbaya, and shared their lunches with each other.").  Meanwhile the people who offer these lame evasions of the obvious meaning of the story don't bat an eye when scientists tell us, "A fluctuation in Nothing billions of years ago exploded and out of that explosion came the trillions of galaxies of the Universe."  Talk about straining at gnats and swallowing camels!  If God can create everything from nothing, why not a few loaves and fishes?
