Hmmm . . .

HMMM . . .

+

That badgering over-sized pile of moi, Pristinus Sapienter, will be watching closely - why, already I want to know -

"Just what happened to my old e-mails?"

without feeling that I am going to have to balance on a toe-point on a trapeze while holding my breath to have them.

Howsomever, I notice a chat offering. THAT ought to be interesting - and, of course, illuminating of the latest abrvtns of chtlk jargon - oops, 'jrgn'. Next, we'll be jabbering in icons . . . a sort of happy-face Chinese.

More . . . later . . . one way or the other . . .

Remember, I love you, too

PS: Oh, yes - 'of happy-face Chinese' I shall not, will not, shall we say, lol, hmmm?
('lol' = 'laugh-out-loud' = 'I am thoroughly amused' - though likely soon to be
'TOFTS' = 'too-old-for-this-(uh)stuff' = 'I am NOT amused')
Nonetheless - luv u

Okay got my old e-mails though they were imported to the GOOgles under 'Spam' - so I moved them before every sender in the folder was considered spam at future mailings.

Maybe, next, I'll go to a chat room and talk to myself - (it wouldn't be the first time)

RE: "old e-mails"

I got only what I had left in my Inbox. All my old folders failed to make it across. Did you have any mail in folders and did the messages make it? I've sent a distress call to Mr. Hickey.

The previous time I also lost all my old folder contents. And to top it off, a few weeks after the prevuious service had been operational, I lost all my folder content too. CE is certainly doing its best to reduce my baggage.

I think CE is taking a risk that since the CE roundtables/forums aren't reachable from the google server, they will lose traffic here, gradually but eventually...

Consider that Chat service for example. I had investigated that and you need to download Windows apps to make it work so that leaves me out completely (don't run Windows or Mac).

Frankly, Google is a resource hog barely worthy of use. As far as I am concerned, its sole use is research look-ups, at my discretion. Having to access email through it is irritating and annoying. My son-in-law is going to increase my RAM as he can, noting that some of the tools I use - amnis exempli gratis, Google - play 'fill-it-up' with my core storage.

My inbox made it - my 'sent' folder, with responses to those in my inbox - didn't. I learned not to bother with any folders but those indigenous to the email program animal.

I am increasingly inclined to remove 'catholicexchange' as a personal email address.

RE: "remove"

I've had a gmail account under another "avatar" for some time and I have gotten accustomed to it.  Although my "box" is rebuilt from scrap parts, it has quite a bit of memory.  Also, I have set the size of the browser "cache" low so I don't use up a lot of scratch space.  CE mail will continue to be part of my resource suite for e-mail.
Sad news is that something has gone amiss with one of my other accounts...and its the one where I had stored the majority of the earlier CE mails that were lost by CE!!
If it turns out to be a password thing, I'm done, or as Bill woudl say "I'm undone&quot  I cannot imagine how I can convince the support staff at that e-mail service that I am who I say I am.  Woe is me.
