Accessing your old e-mails.
If you can't see your old e-mails, please follow these steps
1. Log on to Catholic Exchange
2. Click on "Check your e-mail"
3. Click on the "Folders" link near the top of the center column
4. Scroll down to Subscribe/Unsubscribe
5. If any of your folders are in the right column, click on/select the folder, then click the "subscribe" button
6. Repeat Step 5 for all of your folders.
7. Scroll up and click "Refresh Folder List"
8. You should then be able to read your old mail in the folders in the left column.

10. You may be able to retrieve some of your old mail (from before December 1, 2006) at this link.
Deleting e-mail if your account is full
If your e-mail account is full and you can't delete old e-mails, please do the following:
1. Go into your Webmail.
2. Click "options"
3. Click "Folder preferences"
4. Under "trash folder" select "do not use trash"
5. hit submit
6. then try to delete the e-mails

Using the Catholic Exchange Webmail system
- To access your email, log in to the site (use the login form at the top of the page)
- Follow the link to "Check your email"
- Once your email loads you can
- Open messages by double clicking on the subject
- Delete messages by clicking on the subject once and then clicking on the Delete button at the top, which looks like an international "No" symbol (a circle with a slash through it)
- Delete multiple messages at once by shift-clicking or ctrl-clicking all the messages you want to delete and then clicking the Delete button.
- When viewing a message
- You can save a person's email address to your address book by clicking on the + next to their name
- You can reply , reply all, or forward the message using the bottons above the message
- While writing a message
- When adding people to the To, Cc, or Bcc lines, start to type and if the email address or person you want is already in your addressbook, their name will appear, just use the arrow keys to select that person and click enter. You can do this for as many names as you want.
- There is a Spellchecking feature available, use the botton with the "ABC' and checkmark.
- You may add attachments to your messages using the button with a paperclip.
- If your session times-out, you can get back in by reloading the page or clicking on the "Check your email" link at the top — Remember that messages you are working on are automatically saved in the "Drafts" folder, just in case.
Using the Alternate Catholic Exchange Webmail system
- NOTE: Some users of the Catholic Exchange webmail have been unable to use the new webmail application. To help users with a slower Internet connection or computers without the needed resources to run the new system, an alternate email system is available. This system includes all the features needed except that the address books have not been copies to this system.
- In order to make your email password also be the same as your website password, you must reset your password first. To do so, log in to the Catholic Exchange website with your username and password and follow the link to "edit your account", providing a password and click "Submit". It is okay to reset it to the same password you had before.
- Browse to the alternate webmail application at http://www.catholicexchange.com/sqmail
- Log in using your website username and password
- Access your email, send messages, etc. as you would on any other webmail application.
Accessing your Catholic Exchange email via POP or IMAP
- NOTE: To access your Catholic Exchange email on a program like Microsoft Outlook, Netscape Compser, Thunderbird, or similar you will need to use POP or IMAP
- NOTE: To help reduce SPAM and control the usage of our servers, Catholic Exchange does not provide outgoing mail services (SMTP). Please contact your Internet Serice Provider (the the company you connect to to get to the Internet) for their SMTP server information.

- Open your favorite email application and either edit your existing settings or create a new account following that applications instructions
- For incomming email messages you may choose either "POP" or "IMAP" (these may also have numbers after then, for instance POP3, this is fine)
- When asked for your server enter either "imap.catholicexchange.com" or "pop.catholicexchange.com"
- Please note that if you choose POP and do not tell your email application to leave the messages on the server they will not be available to you through the webmail interface after you get them in your email application
- Please be kind to all users and set your application to check for new messages no more frequently than once every 10 minutes
